For the first time in a while; todayI grabbed my sweat jacket as I started my day. Boy was it a nice change from those last hot summer days. It also means fall is just around the corner!!
For some reason I turn into a crafting fool around fall. I guess there are just soo many things you can make for Halloween and Thanksgiving. The imagination can go wild and of course there are no rules! - A great situation, don't you think?
So here is my first spirt of the crafting bug and it is all about NOT putting a wreath on my front door.
I like wreaths but man am I tired of that format!
So here's what I did.
I started with these lovely suspicious Witches. They were a print out from the Graphics Fairy.
I glued them down to a "trick or treat sign" - that too was a Graphic Fairy print out.

Then I grabbed some fabric scraps and folded them to give them the "ruffled" look.
Of course I used my tool of choice for this - my glue gun!
I wish I could sew , but I can't and my glue gun gets me thru. Ahh glue gun !!
So here is what it started to look like . NO wreath here...but wait it gets better!
Some Black glitter!!! Ok , now we are talking!
Everything for Halloween needs black glitter don't you think?
I put some on the fabric and the Witches hats.
SO here is where the Anti wreath comes in. I had this broken little broom for ever!
I think I've looked at it for over a year now. Well , I finally found a use for it.
I first spray painted it in a cooper color and then added one of those sparkly
flower things you get in the floral to the top.
And here she is!!
I like how the use of the broom and the Witches all ties in together!
I hope they will keep the monsters away on Halloween!!!
Shes all ready to hang on the front door but I gotta get one of those sticky hooks!
With all this cool weather starting - I'm thinking that Ill be finishing the brickwork around my gardens. We will see, with my new crossing guard job in the mix this year, I really want to relax on weekends.

Very cute! I like Halloween decorations that aren't scary looking.
Enjoy this cool weekend. We're cool here, too.
Oh my goodness, this is just toooo cute for words. What a wonderful way to use the old broom. Love that it's different and not the normal wreath, I know it's going to look great on your door. hugs ~lynne~

I have decided I am going to make a Witches broom. Thanks for all the hints. Not sure how I am going to do it..but every year I want one..and am determined. I have this old heavy handled broom...very different from the modern ones today..so..tomorrow...here goes nothing. :) You are inspiring!!
