Wild Horses in Maryland!

I wonder sometimes why I don't just blog in the winter. My summertime posts are always thin. I do apologise for that but you know how it is. Summer is the time for being outdoors and staying active. Oh, and lets not forget vacations!!! We all look forward to those! We did something interesting one weekend this summer - and that was to visit Assateague Island National Seashore in Maryland.

I have to say, this is not just some beach to go and tan at. The coolest thing about this place are the wild horses. Yeah, you read that right - Wild Horses!!!
As you drive into the island you can catch a few grazing on beach grass.

They don't seem to care about the cars passing them by.

They really are a beautiful sight to see as you drive in.
The other sweet deal about this beach is that its dog friendly!!!! I guess they figure if wild horses can wonder here why not doggies , right?!
This was Miss Pepsi's first trip ever to the beach - and she loved it!!!!

She took to the waves like a natural!

We were also lucky enough to catch some horses on the sand.

They stayed until the sun went down.

and as the sun went down - I went into camera mode. Lets enjoy the sunset together shall we?!

I hope you are all having a wonderful summer season! With sunsets like that - how could you not??
If you are ever in Maryland I totally recommend Assateauge Island!

I'll probably start posting more within the next few weeks. With school starting up again I'm sure there will be lots to share and show.

Great photos! I've been fascinated with Assateague and Chincoteague Islands since I was a child reading the Misty series. You got some great shots of the horses, beach, and beautiful sunsets. Glad you had a wonderful time!
