Passing Down Generations

A couple of weeks ago I got to visit with my Great Aunt Lenora. Its always special when she comes because she was visiting from California and she doesn't come every year.
This was a special visit for me, because she passed down a picture of my Mother to me.

Now you have to understand something - my Mother HATES to have her picture taken - I mean HATES  it.  - I remember when my brother got married we all ( the whole family) had to convince her to take 1 measly family picture - so my brother would have her in his wedding pictures -OH YEAH - SHE HATES IT that much!!
So , you can imagine the feeling I had when my Great Aunt passed this picture down to me. It is only 1 of 3 pictures I have of my Mother and it means SO much to me to have it!

Talking with my Great Aunt ; we think she is about 16 or 17 years of age.  Isn't she a hip short haired beauty of the 50's!! I love her white collar too. It seems so clean and pressed.

I hope to pass this picture down to my children so that they can show their children how beautiful their Great Grandmother was in her teenage years! Oh, what a treasure to own it!!

Do you pass down family photos?
And what are your most treasured ones?
