If you know anything about me you would know that I HATE when wires and chords are showing and peaking out to say Hello. Well right behind that are sound system speakers. I hate looking at them but like to hear TV and movie thrue them. Below is the nasty little speaker that sits below my living room TV and it stares at me everyday! Well , something had to be done and since its 94 degrees today here in the Philly area I thought it would be a good day to stay in and craft!

So below is what I decided to work with. A wooden crate and some fake moss rocks
I went for the fake moss rocks because of their awesome price!! They were hanging out in the back of my Jo Ann Fabrics store over here. For $2.97 I couldn't let them stay there - so home they went!
And the best thing about the wood crate - MADE IN THE USA BABY!!! I love that! ( I actually grew up 2 towns over from New Brunswick, NJ - small world)
So I grabbed that awesome can of spray paint ( color : Fossil) I used for the Birdbath and went to town.
Considering how hot it was today - this little baby dried in about 5 minuets!! ; Both outer sides and the inside.
Then I grabbed a very rough grain sandpaper and sanded down the edges and corners. I wanted it to look loved and used.
And check it out - this crate is the perfect size to hide that little nasty speaker!!
I simply then placed those lovely green mossy rocks inside the crate - but it kinda looked a bit blahhh. So NO, I wasn't done here. It needed something.....(light bulb) ....some type of text.
I think I wimped out here but I went with our last name initial and the year we became a couple. I tried to think of something savvy but I think the heat has gotten me. I transferred it on and actually colored it in with a black pen because it was quite small.
And here she is. I'm happy not to have to stare at our little speaker anymore while I watch TV and I might still add something to the sides of it but I think its great for now.
oh and the kids made a pizza shop out of a cardboard box - pretty ingenious if you asked me! Plus it kept them busy for a long time. Who needs Toys R Us??!!

That's a great solution. I also don't like seeing speakers or cords.
